Vineel Sompalli, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.S.C.A.I.

Dr. Vineel Sompalli is the founder and president of the Orlando Heart and Vascular Center. He is board certified in interventional cardiology and he also specializes in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. He was previously with the Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida where he has held the position of Chairman in the Department of Cardiology. He is now affiliated with Oviedo Medical Center in Oviedo, Florida.


Dr. Sompalli received his medical degree from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Medwin Hospitals in India, as well as an additional residency at Michigan State University. Dr. Sompalli also completed two fellowships, one in interventional cardiology at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and a second in cardiology at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.


Dr. Sompalli has been practicing for over 20 years and has performed more than 10,000 coronary and peripheral vascular procedures. He also has years of experience with techniques such as thoracotomy, AV node ablation, and pace maker and defibrillator implantation, among other advanced cardiovascular interventions. In addition, he has spearheaded several important clinical trials that are geared toward improving intervention outcomes and overall cardiovascular health.


Dr. Sompalli is affiliated with the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Angiology, and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He has also practiced in different states including Georgia, Indiana, and New York, and in addition to English, he is also fluent in Telugu.
