Dr. Vineel Sompalli is the founder and president of Orlando Heart & Vascular Center. He is an interventional cardiologist and also specializes in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. He previously practiced at AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida, where he held the position of chairman in the department of cardiology. He is now affiliated with Oviedo Medical Center in Oviedo, Florida. Dr. Sompalli has been practicing for over 20 years and has performed more than 15,000 coronary and peripheral vascular procedures. He also has years of experience with techniques such as thoracotomy, AV node ablation, and pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, among other advanced cardiovascular interventions. In addition, he has spearheaded several important clinical trials that are geared toward improving intervention outcomes and overall cardiovascular health.
Dr. Shravan Ambati is a cardiology, electrophysiology, and heart rhythm specialist. He is affiliated with AdventHealth Orlando Hospital, Oviedo Medical Center, UCF Lake Nona Medical Center, and Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Ambati is a graduate of Cornell University in electrical engineering, and obtained his medical degree at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., a cardiology fellowship at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, and an electrophysiology fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Ambati specializes in heart rhythm disorders and congestive heart failure and has many years of experience in clinical and invasive electrophysiology. He is professionally trained in techniques such as implantations of leadless pacemakers, subcutaneous cardiac defibrillators, heart failure monitors, cardiac contractility modulation, left atrial appendage occlusion devices, and radiofrequency and cryoballoon ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.
Dr. Aalok Patel is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, and interventional cardiology. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees in a combined 6-year BS/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City before going on to complete the J. Willis Hurst Internal Medicine Residency at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Patel subsequently completed a cardiovascular diseases fellowship at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Thereafter, he completed an advanced fellowship specializing in coronary, peripheral, and structural heart disease interventions at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California. Dr. Patel specializes in treatments for structural heart disease, including transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR), mitral valve repairs (MitraClip), PFO/ASD closures, and left atrial appendage closures (Watchman).
